Fill up with God’s Hope

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Have you ever lost hope? Im sure we all have because… life happens! No matter the circumstances, our God is a God of hope. He is the great giver of joy and peace. We find this joy and peace when we trust Him, and the power of the Holy Spirit will overflow us with hope when we do this.

My husband and I use a special app that checks our stress levels by reading our heart beat. Based on different variables, it suggests taking a moment to relax and breathe, which seems to be the reoccurring result lately. When the app is in the “red,” it exposes the times I am quietly depending on self and focusing on circumstances. It’s usually when I’ve been busy, and when it’s evident that I have not carved out time to spend time in His presence.

On the contrary, when the radar is in the “green”, I find it’s during times when I am depending on Jesus, seeking Him as my hope, and surrendering my future. It’s usually when I’ve taken time to recharge, pray, and spend time in His Word.

Clearly, relying on our own strength will only cause more, unnecessary issues and frustrations. So, what do you need to surrender today to recharge and reconnect with God, the giver of joy and peace?

Prayer for today:

Father help me to spend time in Your presence today so that I may align my thought life with Your Word. Transform my life to a life more and more filled with joy and peace. Help me live my life filled with Your Holy Spirit overflowing with hope! Help me to let go and let You! Amen.
