On the other side of HARD

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Do not give up. There is a harvest at the end. There is an end to HARD seasons and we have to keep going knowing the other side is on the horizon. I can see this scripture in different seasons over my life. One way was getting through nursing school. I would imagine every nursing student wants to give up at some point through the exhaustion and stress of school. But boy when G day comes! What a feeling. DONE!

But…Not every HARD season has a defined end or a graduation to look forward to. Some seasons of life seem to drag on and there’s no calculated end like going to school and finishing something you set out to do. There’s not a defined goal to look forward to. Maybe it’s just getting through change you didn’t see coming, sickness, job loss, or just a season of let down after let down. You want something good to happen, to find relief, and find hope that an end is in sight. This passage in Galatians says not to grow weary in doing good…for a harvest is coming. One thing I find that helps in these HARD seasons is practicing gratitude for all He has done for us. Some days the smallest of blessings like another day to live and knowing where our next meal is coming from are things we can be grateful for. We can press on and look up knowing that there is a harvest on the other side if we just don’t give up! And if we can find the silver lining, and not let weariness and bitterness take root, the other side will be all the sweeter!

Thank you Father for your forgiveness and grace and mercy and being our hope to keep moving forward and not give up. Thank you that as we walk through the HARD things you show us how to be steady and continue to walk out our salvation. I pray you bless and keep all your children and families all over the world, that they may find salvation through Christ and get through hard things through the strength He gives. Amen
